Fishery Report 17thJuly

After the driest and warmest spring for decades, fishing is not easy at the moment with high lake temperatures and low flows. As usual the best spots are Wood Lodge and Kingfisher pools at Weston and the river and Mill lake at Vale End. All other lakes will be tricky and probably won't recover until the autumn. 82 fish were caught across all venues last week.

Now is a great time to give the carp lake at Weston a try, we have started cutting the weed in this lake this week. We would advise heavy leader around 10lb to keep the fish out of the weed once hooked.

Please note this Saturday, Weston fishery is closed for a private event and there will be no day or evening tickets available. Season rods may fish Vale End and Powdermills.
