Fishery Report 20th June

This week Albury anglers have found things slightly more challenging with some very hot weather about. However fishing at the right time of day and correct location will give you a chance of putting a fish or two on the bank. Early morning and late evenings will be the best and try to avoid the hottest parts of the day. Location wise, the best sport will be Wood Lodge and Kingfisher pools at Weston and Mill lake and the river at Vale End.

Anglers have had most success fishing small natural patterns such as small nymphs and buzzers and small dries like cdc's and sedge patterns in sizes 16 to 18 especially in the evening.

With the warmer weather the carp lake has thrown up some really exciting fishing although you do have to be prepared to put the time in to reap the rewards. The carp lake is very clear at the moment so stalking the fish will be great fun. Eggs, worms and blobs fished on the drop will be good fun but also feeding loose surface feed and then presenting a dog biscuit imitation will also work.

The river beats at Vale End and Weston will also be worth a go but in this hot weather the late evenings will be the best. Please remember that the cost to fish these bits of river is included in your membership and catch and release is allowed. All wild fish must be released and i would recommend fishing barbless or debarbed hooks.
