Fishery Report 25th September

We are finally seeing the fishing improve after a very challenging summer. With water temperatures dropping and the completion of a number of lake drain downs it has been great to see more anglers on the bank and catching some really nice fish. Belmont lake (larger of the two) at Vale End has fished well and the water clarity is superb with the fish well spread. Flies fished on or just under the surface have done well such as daddy longlegs and hoppers, especially if there is some ripple on the surface. Wood Lodge pool at Weston has also been drained, refilled and stocked and back to its best. The water clarity is great. The fish here have responded well to damsel patterns and daddy longlegs. Down at Powdermills the lake is slowly refilling and should be open towards the beginning of October ready for the winter season.

Winter season rods are now available to purchase online as well as plenty of day ticket availability. Please remember that the cafe at Weston is open Tuesday to Friday, 8.30am to 2pm.
