Fishery Report 26th November
It was a mixed bag last week with some anglers struggling and some doing really well. However we did notice a shift in conditions when we had some very cold weather that really got the fish going. Now water temperatures have really dropped we are seeing lures dominating the catch return book. Damsels in various forms, Cats Whiskers, black and orange lures are working well. If the fish don't want to chase, try fishing egg flies under an indicator.
With some colder weather think about carrying a sink tip or an intermediate line with you. Ideally you want two rods set up, one with a floater and one with an intermediate or sink tip line on which allows you to change your approach quickly. Another tip when arriving at the fishery, take time to walk around the fishery and observe the lake before fishing, not just fish the nearest swim to the car. Taking 10 minutes to observe the water for any fish activity or rising fish is vital to help you formulate a plan for your fishing session.
