Fishery Update 23rd April

272 fish caught from the lakes last week. The conditions and lake water clarities at all fisheries are about as good as you can get, so I can't urge you enough to get out fishing.

Fish have been taken on a variety of flies, from big bright lures to tiny dry flies, however small black buzzers and diawl bachs have seen the fair share of the action. For those anglers who enjoy stalking and seeing the fish take the fly, the best venue is Weston due to its crystal clear spring fed water.

On the river its been a bit of a slow start with most fish taken on small weighted nymphs. The warmer weather that we are getting should encourage some fly hatches and get the fish looking up. We have even seen the first Mayfly hatch off but we are still a few weeks away from seeing the big hatches that will get the fish going.

On the carp lake most fish have been taken on weighted egg and blob patterns fished deep under an indicator but with this warmer weather anglers should get the chance to catch off the top.
