History of the lakes
The Albury Estate trout fishing lakes were created in the late ninteen seventies, and many of them have featured the overhauling of redundant millpond areas within a valley which has been archaeologically rich in harnessing the power of water for centuries . The lakes are fed by a number of springs as well as the Tillingbourne River that runs along the South side of the North Downs in Surrey from Leith Hill and joins the River Wey near Guildford. Lakes are well stocked with Rainbow Trout from our own Estate Fish Farm and provide excellent Fly Fishing. Carp fishing as also available at Weston.

Vale End provides four acres of beautifully landscaped and varied stillwater and stream fishing comprising Belmont Lake and Mill Lake, which nestle at the foot of Belmont Wood. These waters are spring fed, with clean gravel on the lake beds giving rise to a wealth of natural fly life, especially olives and buzzers. Stands of established Alder and Crack Willow provide ample shade and natural cover. Mill Pool and Belmont are stocked with brown and rainbow trout of an average weight of 2lb 8oz up to in excess of 10lb.
Weston Fishery offers three lakes fed by spring water totalling 6 acres, with plenty of bank space and open back cast area, and all with a good average depth.
