Albury Estate Fisheries is pleased to announce the arrival of a new species of trout that will revolutionize the fly-fishing industry. The King Trout or Oncorhynchus myking aprilfoolia is set to become the most sought-after fish species for anglers all over the world. This stunning fish, which boasts iridescent scales in shades of purple and gold, has been selectively bred by our team of expert fish farmers in Albury for over a decade.
According to Richard King, chief fish farmer at Albury Estate Fisheries Fish Farm, “We have been working tirelessly for many years to create a fish that not only provides a challenge for anglers but also delivers an unforgettable culinary experience. The King Trout is a fish that has it all – it’s beautiful, strong and delicious.”

The King Trout is a large fish, with the potential to grow up to 30 or 40lbs (15 – 18Kg) in weight. It is a very challenging fish to catch, making it an ideal target for experienced anglers. Its flesh is firm and succulent, with a delicate flavour that is sure to delight even the most demanding foodies. Smoked King Trout will be prepared from the Albury Estate Trout Smokey once we learn how to reliably catch and land this new species.
